TEC educates students through classroom instruction and hands-on workplace experiences.

Schools and employers agree on a locally relevant skill set students will be expected to attain before graduation. Both can choose all or some of the following TEC curriculum components: 
  • Basic Literacy, Numeracy and Computer Skills
  • Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness
  • Basic Electricity 
  • Hand Tools and Machine Tools
  • Mechanical Systems Awareness
  • Measurement Devices
  • Print Reading
  • Preventive Maintenance 
  • Fluid Power Awareness
  • Diesel Engine Fundamentals (Elective)
  • Power Generation Fundamentals (Elective)
  • Manufacturing Fundamentals (Elective)
  • Local Business Language
  • Organizational and Soft Skills, which include interpersonal communications, teamwork and problem-solving
While in training, students will be monitored by the school and employers to ensure meaningful gains are being made.
